Journey Forward Fund is our annual giving campaign. We're inviting every family to take part and support Journey School.
What does the Journey Forward Fund support?
A Journey education goes well beyond the basics. Our children learn through carefully curated blocks of academic study enriched by specialty programming that brings the arts, movement, and hands-on skills into every grade. We offer one of the lowest student-to-staff ratios in all of Orange County, so every child is known and supported. Students experience a festival life that marks the seasons and brings our whole community together. And they learn by doing, through experiential activities that connect learning to the world around them.
Programming at Journey costs more than public (state and federal) funding covers. And yet each year, we are required to balance our budget...historically we have achieved that in two ways. First, Journey staff members across the program accept about 20% less in compensation than staff in similar roles in surrounding public school districts. Our amazing staff members make that choice because they are deeply committed to your children and to this program. Secondly, each year we evaluate programmatic offerings and face painful cuts to balance the budget. These are cuts we know will affect your children's experience at Journey, and they are among the hardest decisions we make.
A strong Journey Forward Fund that we can depend on each year will help us balance the budget in a new way: protecting the program from "moving backwards" through those cuts, and, we hope, someday helping close the staff pay gap and improve staff retention rates.

- Tax-deductible: Gifts are tax-deductible. Please contact the office for tax receipt details.
New this year: Fence banner sponsorships
Families and community partners who own a business can now advertise on our campus fence:
- Premier (main entrance/cul-de-sac): A $1,000 donation allows you to place a banner on our fence for business advertisement
- Community (back fence/bike path): For $750, receive the same benefit on our back fence/bike path
