A special “thank you” from the Kindergarten Teachers:
The Journey Kindergarten Community recently held a ‘Welcome Spring’ Work Day, and the Kindergarten Teachers want to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all who came out to help. We shared a lovely Saturday filled with productive work, great food, good friends, family, and thoughtful conversations.
It was a joy to share this experience with the children, to witness their curiosity and support their work-participation. These community experiences reinforce the foundation of Journey School’s values and ethics. Please know that Journey School is dependent upon your active contribution of volunteerism, and we are so grateful for it.
Thank you for the many, many donations of soil, mulch, trees, flowers, herbs, plants, wood, planks, tools, tires, muscle work, artistic work, painting, care, time, love, generosity…. “many hands make light work!”
Our Kindergarten Yard is much more than a play yard, it too is a classroom for the children thus we treat it as such with “a place for everything, everything in its place” perspective. We ask for a renewed and collective effort to tend and care for this shared classroom space. Towards this effort, we will soon be placing signs and locks on our gates to hold and protect this space for our youngest Journey students, to allow this space to rest and to find it as we have left it, ready for a new day.
We continue to be inspired by you and your children as we strive to create a beautiful outdoor space that inspires love of learning, love of play, and love and respect for our natural world. Together we grow ourselves and the generations of the future.
With much gratitude,
Journey Kindergarten Team
