Application Process

The Application window for the 2025-2026 school year will open on November 1, 2024. 

In addition to the lottery application, the following requirements are necessary for your application to be complete:

  • Attend a Journey School Tour/Information Session. For the 2025-2026 application, Journey School will offer virtual tours beginning in November through the closing of the application window on February 20, 2025 for the Seatbased (full-time) program, and on March 12 for the Independent Study programs (Hybrid/Part-time and Homebased). Parents will have the opportunity to sign-up for a virtual tour/information session as part of the application that can be found on Journey School’s enrollment website: Click here for the lottery application.
  • Journey School’s age cut-off is earlier than traditional public schools.

  • Read the Journey School Parent Partnership Agreements. Click here to view the Agreements (PDF).
  • Upload your student’s most recent immunization records. All students in the State of California are subject to state mandated immunization laws. To learn more about the legal requirements, please visit ShotsForSchools.org.
  • Upload a qualifying Proof of Birth (birth certificate, passport, hospital record, etc.) to the online application. Please review the Application Instructions to learn more about qualifying documents.
  • Upload a qualifying Proof of Residency for the student’s resident address with the application. Click here for the Proof of Residency Guidelines.
